Michelle Bowmile BA. BEd. MEd Candidate
My name is Michelle Bowmile and I am currently working on my MEd at York. After becoming involved with LSF, I have decided to focus my research interests on sustainability and education. I believe that these are the most important issues to address in education today, given that the youth today provide our future society.
Kayla Cooper BFA. BEd.
Kayla Cooper attended York University for her BFA and BEd. She continues to be alarmed by the amount of waste created in schools, but is determined to stay positive.
Deborah Moffett, MES, (MEd candidate)
Deborah Moffett is an Environmental/Sustainability Educator, Researcher and Activist.
I consult and collaborate with urban teachers, students and administrators to develop and test experiential and arts-integrated methods and lessons that integrate environmental and sustainability oriented education into everyday teaching practices. I collaborated with elementary school teachers to develop, test and revise an interdisciplinary critical place-based resource guide for teachers called “Making Watershed Connections: Linking Students to their Communities and Local Ecosystems.” It includes 20 activities and covers 140 Ontario curriculum teaching expectations.
I love exploring the potential of learning that has an action component and have been thoroughly enjoying co-facilitating a deeply engaged elementary school environment club for the past 2 ½ years.
